ONDO CP RESTATES COMMITMENT TOWARDS 2016 GUBER ELECTIONS

The delectable commissioner of police, Cp Hilda Ibifuro Harrison, had it articulate when gdev news crew paid her a courtesy visit in her Alagbaka office, Akure, the capital city of Ondo state. Without mincing word, gdev crew was impressed with her openness and free mindset to express herself and how much ready her department is towards the forthcoming primaries and guber election in the State.
In her words, the gubernatorial election of Ondo state has been on the calendar of the INEC and is well known all over the world. As for the Nigeria police force, security is the only business we know and for election to hold properly, security, manpower, materials and logistics must be provided for which I'm very sure and certain the inspector general of police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, MNI, will be very supportive in providing logistics for the command. We hope to cover all the 18 LGA (s) in the state with policemen and women to ensure proper safety of lives and properties and also to build more confidence in the electorates to come out and vote their choice for the next executive governor of the state. Of course the primaries are a build up to the election. So, I can assure everyone that the citizens of Ondo state will be secured before, during and after the electioneering process in the state.
So what do you have to say about the presence of heavy security during election?
The presence of security agents during election should not scare the electorates but rather build their confidence in the process. We are going to have a wide spread of them across the 18 LGAs in the state during these times. Secondly, it is to send signals to the hoodlums and troubleshooters that they have no places in Ondo state during this times. Thuggery of any kind shall never be tolerated in the state. Anyone who errs on the part of the law will of course face the music of the law! She said.

Hilda Ibifuro Harrison
COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, ONDO STATE

How would say you are faring so far in the state as their Cp?
Well, I'm not the first female Cp in the state. We had Rtd DIG Chintua Amajor between 2010-2011, and as a woman it really does not make any difference in the performance of your job. Men and women are gifted intellectually, even in their physical capability to perform. The training, experience, and skills a man acquires in the performance of his job are also what a woman acquires. And the ability to manage men and materials is one which a woman is better gifted.
Yes, people talk about the psychology of women not able to tolerate each other but I can tell you it has to do with your level of understanding and exposure in life. I will rather expect women to be very supportive of each other whether high or lower in rank. Issues of jealousy and self low esteem should not arise at all. Just know who you are and teacher other women the special values in you that will link them with success, Women have intuitive powers, So the capability of a female Cp should be rated based on her performance and not her gender.
What is your advice to the people of Ondo state?
Ondo people must be law abiding and be obedient to the electoral laws which is constitutional. As for mothers and youths, they should not allow themselves to be used as victims for any unlawful purpose. Mothers, teach your children good morals and values so they won't be bought off in the wrong direction in life.

ONDO POLICE AND 2016 ELECTION PREPARATIONS

Report reaching us on the good things happening in ‘A’ division Akure, made Gdev News to storm the place and upon arrival, our observation made us to know how much the division is getting ready to man their beats in the forthcoming primaries in the state.
Well, on arrival, one may be tempted to question the whereabouts of the D.P.O  considering the significance of the division’s contribution on its preparation for the forthecoming party primaries. Gdev newz were met with the absence of the divisional police officer (DPO) who was on an official assignment at the time of filing this report but got talking to a reliable source who opened up and spoke on his own humble observations.
‘A division is highly recognised in the state and is close to both the people and government of Ondo state. It is strategically located too. Both government and commercial activities are within their jurisdiction and with that, they have stepped up their operations and preparations towards the forthcoming primaries in the state. They also engage in training and retraining their personnel and making frantic efforts to make sure they intensify their patrol in the metropolis. They educate their officers on how to be civil to the members of the public even though they have to be firm and professional in discharging their duties’, the reliable source said.

"A" DIVISION, AKURE

But thinking about the fact that the commissioner of police in the state appeared to be a woman, again one is tempted to enquire about her working relationship with other officers ? Our reliable source was quick to defend her by saying she is even better than some CP(s) he has observed personally. She is operationally and intellectually sound. She is a mother at heart and always has a listening ear to every matter or problem brought before her.
So now, you mean to tell us there are no challenges in A division? Again, our reliable source was quick to object that, “Of course they face challenges in terms of logistics and manpower which he believes in no distant time, the amiable Cp will be able to suffice the necessary support from the government and police headquarters to fill in these lacks”, he added
Civility to the members of the public is key in the police force, he concluded.
